GRET Project

United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Vienna, Austria is sponsoring a project which is aimed at building and strengthening technical capacity of relevant institutions within Gambia with respect to renewable energy through both a “train-the-trainers” approach and through direct training.

In addition the project also seeks to facilitate the process of developing robust renewable energy curricula for possible integration into the existing curricula at Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) University of The Gambia (UTG) and possibly Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. This will be done in consultation with key institutions in Gambia. This project is expected to end in July, 2014 and the project amount is US$ 46,115.48. The project is coordinated by Dr. Lawrence Darkwah of the Chemical Engineering Department.
