Short project description:
- Demonstrate the potential of distributed grid-connected solar PV systems in rural electrification schemes/projects for improved affordability and sustainable energy access
- Investigate the engineering challenges associated with distributed grid-connected solar PV systems in rural Africa
- Determine the conditions under which distributed grid-connected solar PV systems can be economically attractive to both system operators and rural electricity consumers
- Develop a strategy for use of distributed grid-connected solar PV to meet the electricity deficit in rural Africa
