The aim of the 3-day visit was to investigate and observe the various activities associated with the setting up of nursery as well look at different genotypes or varieties of the Jatropha plant been experimented on. Some investigations carried out by the team revealed the different agronomic practices and its impact, fertilization effect, seed yield, disease and pest control strategies. In addition, the cloning experiments on development of improved varieties that can be suitable for different climatic and soil conditions were also identified.

The visit yielded very positive results as the team was able to establish a cordial agreement with Jatro Select for support to establish a nursery and plantation at KNUST.
