1.  Political Economy of land access for large scale solar projects in Ghana

The Brew Hammond Energy Center in partnership with the Climate compatible growth is conducting research into the political economy of land access for large scale projects in Ghana. This project focuses on understanding the political, policy, governance, and institutional factors that shape and influence adoption of climate-compatible policies and energy transition investments.

2. Professional Education for Renewable Energies in Ghana

The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre is implementing a project titled “Professional Education for Renewable Energy in Ghana - ProREG" in collaboration with Technische Universität Berlin, University for Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) as well as six corporate partners. The project seeks to integrate a new approach to teaching and learning suited to industry requirements regarding renewable energy curriculum taught at the tertiary level. The intention is to make the courses we teach, student-centered and practice-oriented to strength our student’s pedagogy to make them more relevant to industry and become more entrepreneurial.

3. Development of standard and compliance framework for low emission transport and an electric mobility road map for São Tomé and Príncipe

The Brew-Hammond Energy Center in collaboration with pManifold Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd has been contracted by the United Nations Industrial Development (UNIDO) to work on a project entitled “developing a standard and compliance framework for low emission transport and an electric mobility road map for São Tomé and Príncipe”.

4. Climate Compatible Growth

Climate Compatible Growth’s (CCG) National Partnerships team, led by the Centre for Global Equality, has recently partnered with The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (TBHEC-KNUST) to be the coordination institution of the Ghana CCG Network. The Centre will lead efforts in Ghana on Climate Compatibility Growth

6. Agrivoltaic Technology in Drylands of West Africa

The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre, KNUST, in collaboration with the Crop Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-CRI) have been awarded a grant to execute a project titled “Agrivoltaic Technology in Drylands of West Africa: Strengthening National Innovation Systems for Diffusion and Market Development at the Water-Energy-Food Nexus”.
