The Energy Center, KNUST participated in the 3rd West African Clean Energy & Environment Exhibition & Conference which was organized by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK) and the German trade fair specialists fair-trade from Tuesday, 10th to Thursday 12th February, 2015. The Center was supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The WACEE 2015 offered The Energy Center the opportunity to present its research and consultancy activities to industry players in the energy sector and the general.
Posters on activities presented on completed activities included:
- Action-Oriented Monitoring and Evaluation of Energy Access in Ghana
- Modelling Socio-Economic Impacts of Biogas Potential in Agro-Industrial Systems
- Potential of Distributed Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems in Rural Electrification in Africa: Case Study of Walewale Ghana
- Biomass Assessment for Grid Connected Electricity Generation in Ghana
- Climate and Resource Protection in Ghana
Furthermore, Mr. Joseph Akowuah, a fellow and lecturer at the Agricultural Engineering Department made an oral presentation on the Jatropha Value Chain component of the Climate and Resource Protection in Ghana project which highlighted the Economic feasibility and market potential of briquettes.
